Maurizio Carnevali was born in Villa San Giovanni in 1949. He is a painter, sculptor, and printmaker. His training began in Paris, where he had the opportunity to meet Picasso, and continued in Milan, where he frequented the studio of Renato Guttuso. He has traveled extensively and gained diverse experiences but continues to live and work in Lamezia Terme. He primarily paints landscapes, still lifes, etchings, and tempera works.
He is known for his art, which ranges from painting to sculpture to printmaking. His artistic education developed in Paris, where he had the chance to meet Picasso, and later in Milan, where he attended Renato Guttuso’s studio.
His works are characterized by sacred and mythological themes, with creatures in perpetual metamorphosis populating his imaginative world. This approach allows him to create forms and images without constraints, which seem to almost disperse into the fluidity of matter.
Carnevali also has extensive experience in the field of public art, having created works such as mosaics, porcelain, ceramics, and Murano glass. His artistic activity is based in Lamezia Terme, Calabria, where he lives and works.
