Leonardo Lucchi was born on December 9, 1952, in Cesena, where he still lives and works today.
He studied at the Art Institute for Ceramics in Faenza, graduating in 1970.
At the beginning of his artistic career, he participated in several group exhibitions, where he immediately achieved his first successes and organized his first solo exhibitions. He was invited to create a large Risen Christ and an imposing Way of the Cross in the Catholic Church of Singapore. In his hometown, he played a key role in creating important bronze groups, including monuments to Don Carlo Baronio, Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and Saint John the Baptist at the Cathedral Church.
In more than thirty years of artistic activity, Leonardo Lucchi has exhibited in various Italian cities, starting with Rome: Modena, Venice, Florence, Ferrara, Milan, Bologna, Palermo, Messina, and Bari.
He is highly appreciated in France, where he is often invited to exhibit: St. Paul de Vence, Nancy, Grenoble, Poitiers, Annecy, Besançon, and Toulouse are just a few of the cities that honor him. Abroad, he has also exhibited in London, Paris, Luxembourg, Basel, Geneva, and Ghent (Belgium).
Recently, Master Lucchi has created several monumental public works, including sculptural groups dedicated to the fallen of World War II, placed in Terni and Forlì, fountains for the “Piazza della Vita” in Bolgare (BG), the staircase with the bronze group “The Tightrope Walkers,” the monuments “The Beauty of Cesena” and “The Mare and the Little Boy,” which recalls Pascoli’s famous poem “La cavalla storna,” and the large fountain “Water: Source of Beauty,” located at the entrance of the thermal area of Bagno di Romagna.
Recently, he also created a Resurrection for the Basilica of San Marino, placed there on the occasion of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit.
His works are on permanent display in prestigious galleries in Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, and are now present in numerous private collections worldwide.
Leonardo Lucchi’s studio is located in the heart of the city: here, the artist aims to offer a place of cultural and human exchange accessible to all, where one can breathe the atmosphere filled with emotions and feelings that are the foundation of every artistic inspiration and expression.
