Giampietro Maggio

Born in Milan in 1934 and a graduate of the Brera Academy, Giampietro Maggi has been painting for 50 years. Painting is a means of storytelling and self-expression, and Giampietro Maggi has been doing this with the most genuine inspiration for half a century. Alongside numerous national and international awards and recognitions, his long career includes the retrospective exhibition “Una vita per l’Arte” (“A Life for Art”) in Milan, his hometown, celebrating this joyous milestone. His 50 years of painting embody authentic values, devoid of pandering, practiced with exceptional diligence and seriousness. Giampietro Maggi, Knight of the Italian Republic for artistic merit, lives and works in Milan.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his artistic life, including:

  • International Prize of the city of Geneva
  • Award from the Municipality of Milan
  • Ambrogino d’Oro from the Municipality of Milan
  • S. Barnaba Award
  • Marco d’Agrate Award
  • La Madonnina Award

In 1976, he was awarded the title of “Knight of the Italian Republic” for artistic merit.

He has exhibited in the most important galleries in Italy and in municipal centers and museums. He has also exhibited in major galleries abroad: New York, San Diego, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Munich, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Lucerne, Zurich, Lugano, and others.

His works are held in public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
