Francesca Capitini

Francesca Capitini (1978) was born in Assisi. From a young age, she loved drawing and pursued academic studies in art and restoration in Florence. In her early twenties, she returned to Spello and opened her first studio. There, she engaged with saints and blessed figures, discovering them in old frescoes in small churches, restoring them to their former glory. She painted a Franciscan-themed scene in the heart of the historic Basilica of Assisi. Since then, she has created countless frescoes on walls and panels. The young artist’s fame has exponentially increased, and her renown is confirmed by critics.

Over the years, she has devoted herself to painting saints and blessed figures, without neglecting the secular side of her art, which includes stunning male and female nudes. Her frescoes are always aimed at achieving the utmost spirituality. The atmosphere of each painting is imbued with a slow breath composed of colorful textures. The subjects are placed in an environment where they harmonize with polychromatic lights that seem to emanate from the images themselves. Some of her paintings feature fragments of writing and figures with faces that emerge with an almost ashen light on a breath of green or a veil of orange.
