Nicola Morea

Nicola Morea, a professional painter and graphic artist, was born in Bari on August 16, 1943. He resides and has his studio in Mola di Bari. He inherited his artistic talent from his mother, a fashion designer, and trained in painting under the Italian-Venezuelan painter ‘Don Pedro’. He began his exhibition activity with a solo show in Gioia del Colle in 1976. In graphics, he benefited from the teachings of Maria Bellomo, a printmaking professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, and Marisa Salomone, at whose print shops he has produced over forty works, including etchings, aquatints, screenprints, and linocuts, from 1980 to the present.

He has over 50 solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and has participated in national and international competitions with significant recognition. His works are included in public and private collections. In 1996, he co-founded the movement “Terzo Millennio” to explore aspects of contemporary art. In 2011, he was invited to the 54th Venice Biennale. Over the years, his artistic exploration has resulted in several series:
